Glass

Glass fusing dates back to the ancient Egyptians. In the process, glass is cut, stacked on itself with mixtures of color added in between. It's then fired in a kiln to between 1200 and 1700 degrees F. This is when the magic happens -- the glass softens and flows together to capture bubbles and the beautiful translucent colors that fused glass jewelry is know for.
